I'm not exactly on a spending ban but I also haven't exactly been on a huge spending spree recently. I just haven't been near any shops and to be honest it's probably safer if I don't go into town as I am trying to save! However I have picked up a few bits and bobs recently and surprisingly nothing was beauty related except for the Benefit mascara but technically I bought the magazine and that was in it.
Starting with magazines I did pick up the latest Elle magazine because of the new Benefit mascara in it and I wanted to give it a try. I won't say much about the mascara here as I am going to be posting a review of it. The day I went to the shop to purchase this, as I was walking home there was a snow storm and oh my goodness, I have never been so cold in my entire life. This magazine is not something I would usually or ever buy because it's basically a magazine of advertisements. Although it is great to use in backgrounds of photos so I won't complain too much!
I also recently picked up the latest Stellar magazine because my fave was on the cover of it. Again what came into mind was 'hey another magazine, I could totally use that for background of photos'. I do think this is an irish magazine so I'm not sure if you can get it in England etc. I'm not one who ever really reads or buys magazines to be honest unless theres someone I really like on the front.
I have gone a little DVD mad and started treating myself to some new ones that I love. I picked some up in Tescos, Aldi, Heatons and Xtravision. I picked up 'You, Me & Dupree' for €3 in tescos. Then in Aldi for valentines they got in loads of different movies for €5 each so I picked up 'The Notebook', 'Dear John', 'Taken 1 & 2' and 'How To Train Your Dragon' because I'm still a child at heart! Then in Heatons for €4 each, 'Crazy,Stupid Love', 'Couples Retreat' and 'Ted'. Finally from Xtra vision I picked up 'Horrible Bosses' and 'Now You See Me' as they were doing a two for €12 deal. I also picked up The Purge and The Purge: Anarchy as they are two of my favourite movies, and the boxset was €12.99.
While in Tkmaxx I came across this adorable notebook and I just couldn't leave it behind because I am a sucker when it comes to quotes on anything really! It was €6.99 which honestly is probably the most expensive notebook I've purchased but hey, you can never have too many to write down your blogging ideas. Along with that in Tkmaxx I also picked up a nailpolish by the brand Jessica that was down to €2. I've been looking for a nude nail polish recently and thought this would be perfect but sadly it's still way too sheer.
Finally I purchased 'Love Tanya' by the lovely Tanya Burr which I will admit I haven't even started reading yet, but I really like the cover. Hopefully I'll get around to it soon. What I will say is I thought it was a bit on the pricey side to be honest, yes it's a big enough book but still €18.99 for a book thats not a story or an autobiography it's just a bit of everything.
Have you been buying anything recently?
